Start with a complete export
Export the Gerber layers and drill files from one revision of the PCB design and place them in an ordinary ZIP. Keep your source design and original export unchanged. Mixing copper from one revision with drills from another can create a plausible-looking package whose hole positions are wrong. A viewer cannot identify the intended revision from geometry alone.
Load the generated example first if you want to see the expected workflow. It contains a 40 × 25 mm outline centreline, two copper flash centres at 10,10 and 30,10 mm, and two matching 1 mm drill hits. The outline artwork bounds are 40.1 × 25.1 mm because the drawn outline has a 0.1 mm stroke. That distinction matters when interpreting dimensions.
Review the inventory and overlay
After analysis, compare every reported filename and role with your export manifest. X2 FileFunction attributes take precedence; filename patterns are only hints. A copper-looking filename does not establish the full stackup, layer order or material thickness. Other files, such as fabrication notes, are listed as ignored rather than silently treated as a board layer.
Toggle copper, outline and drill layers separately, then together. The overlay converts declared inches to millimetres while retaining each source origin and orientation. It does not shift a layer to make it appear aligned, and bottom layers are not mirrored. Use zoom to inspect an isolated feature and check whether the surrounding geometry agrees with your design.
Keep the handoff evidence honest
A partial result clearly lists rejected layers. Supported layers remain inspectable, but a clean-looking partial overlay is not a complete package check. This release refuses aperture macros, step-repeat, advanced image transforms and routed drill slots. Re-export a simpler supported package or inspect those files with a suitable dedicated viewer.
Download the all-layer SVG and the illustrated HTML or full JSON report. The interactive selection has a separate SVG download, so it is clear which layers were visible. Send the original production files, not the illustration, for fabrication. Electrical rules, clearances, annular rings, board routing and manufacturing tolerances still require the source design and the fabricator’s checks.
